Dear Cole,
Daddy had to go for a 5 day trip to Washington DC for a derm conference so Mama was extra excited that her friend Aimee had come to visit. We had a great time with five boys and two mamas holding down the fort. Between the dirt piles, jeep driving, wrestling matches, and park outings we managed to get all five boys sick. Everyone had stuffy noses and coughs which was extra tough for you, sweet boy. You did great at staying asleep at night but couldn't stay asleep laying down. This meant that Mama had to hold you upright and not sleep. Cade got the most sick of the whole crew and ended up with 6+ days of fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia and a sinus infection.
At 1 month, 3 days old your neck was super strong and we had you sleep on your tummy for the first time. You loved it!
When Aimee and the boys left on March 9th, we were ready to settle into our new normal as a family of five. Mama was SO grateful to have your big brothers as helpers. Jack, especially, adores you and loves to lay on the ground with you and chat. You even get to sit by him in the car because he keeps you happy by putting a paci in your mouth when you are sad and singing you songs (mostly Hark the Herald Angels Sing).
At 7 weeks old, you really started smiling a lot and telling us stories through adorable baby coos. You also settled into a more predictable pattern of napping and awake times. You love to sleep in the Maya Wrap ring sling while mama watches the big boys outside and are such a happy baby when you aren't tired.
Sunday, March 27th was your first Easter. Mama made each of you boys a bowtie that she sewed onto one of your polo shirts. You all looked adorable and she was able to dress you in a special outfit without spending any money. Way to go, Mama! :) We had our 8th Annual Panther Family Easter brunch that morning before church. It is so very sad to think of leaving this place and these people that we have loved so long. After a wonderful Easter service at church and naptimes that followed, we were ready for an Easter egg hunt. Your brothers had SO much fun finding their eggs and easter baskets.
Your favorite thing in the world is to stare into someone's eyes. You are our deep connection baby. If left up on our shoulder or facing out for too long, you protest until we look you right in the eyes. It will be fun to see how your personality develops in the future.
We love you so,
Mama and Daddy

What a wonderful addition Cole is to your family Cami. God has been so good to you and David and those boys are pure sweetness and joy - most of the time. Can't wait to hold him. Praying for the big move to Pittsburgh too.
