Here we are in the middle of March and Dave has survived yet another test week. It feels as though he spends more time taking tests than learning the material, but such is life. He now has three weeks of class followed by another test week and then four weeks of class followed by TWO full weeks of exams. Dave's system is to basically kill himself for an entire week, always capping off with an all-nighter before the last exam. We are both baffled and nervous to see how he will handle two weeks of exams in a row. Uff da!
For now, we just live in the moment and celebrate the small victories, like high scores this go round. Dave will now enjoy a week off with Spring Break. He and three other guys are headed down to Zion National Park in Utah for 4-5 days. I obviously will be lonely without him, but am VERY excited for him to have the opportunity to see one of my favorite places. Plus, having some man time is an added bonus. Stay tuned for pictures.
My school situation has been on an incline the last few weeks. The kids have been working hard (finally!!!!) and are really seeing the fruits of their labor. I'm a little nervous about the next several months just being able to keep them focused and interested. Usually we have two months to prepare for a concert and this time we have four months. I am having to pull every trick out of the hat, but love a good challenge.
I truly see the light at the end of the tunnel and can't wait for summer. We have so many exciting plans which center around family and loads of hiking in the beautiful northwest. Ahhh...to breathe clean air and be surrounded on all sides by beauty. The smog has officially rolled in until next February which makes me long for HOME.
