This last week marked my spring break from school. It was absolutely wonderful to have no where to go and a true break from my commitments. This gave me time to make some homemade gifts, sleep, keep my house clean, and take care of my sick husband (first time he's even had a cold in our three years of marriage).
We started the break with our traditional Easter morning festivities of a sunrise worship service and followed by brunch at our place. We have the most wonderful friends here and it is so great to celebrate the Saviors victory over the grave!
The break ended with yet another celebration: my first baby shower!
The amazing girls from my Bible Study put together a joint shower for myself and my friend Chelsea who is due to have her little boy next Thursday. We have a total of five pregnant gals so it was great to do a double shower to hit two birds with one stone.
We had a great time playing games, opening presents, eating a delicious brunch (my fav!), and the time was closed with prayers that the girls has solicited from both Chelsea and my moms. When they announced the plan for this, I burst into ugly cry... you know the kind where you make horrible croaking sounds and can't keep it together? I just miss my mom so much right now and add that to these crazy hormones and you get a blubbering mess. Needless to say, my mom's prayer was beautiful and something I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

Dave is in the middle of the hardest rotation of the year, internal medicine at Riverside Community Hospital. He leaves for work at 5:30 most mornings and either comes home around 8pm or like today, will stay at the hospital all night and come home tomorrow around 5pm. He is being worn ragged and is struggling to balance this life with his health and also the high priority task of applying for away rotations for next year. Pray for his endurance and sanity.
We are also still struggling to find a good solution about where to birth this sweet little boy come August. Because of my current school insurance running out three days before our little one is due and the high cost of home birth ($4000 out of pocket), we are left without any good options. Pray that we will have wisdom on how to move forward with this monumental decision.
