11/11/11 is todays date.

This must mean that it is a very special day.
For us, Jack, it is special because it marks that you are 3 months old. There have been several moments in the last few weeks during our middle of the night feedings when I have looked down at you and been overwhelmed with emotion. It feels like my chest might explode because of the amount of love that I have for you. You are such a good boy, Jack. You've settled into your own pattern of eating and sleeping, both of which you do well. You have become much less fussy and now only really cry when you need something.
You are a highly skilled communicator. When we talk to you, you look at us intently to try and learn how to copy us. You repeat us when we say, "Hi" and "Ohh". Your absolute favorite is when we make lip buzzes and just this week you have begun to mimic us.
You used to want to be held over our shoulders but now, you want none of that. You'd rather be held sitting on our laps looking forward. You used to cry when you woke up in the middle of the night, but now you just find your thumb to soothe yourself. Mama has to listen really carefully to know when it is time to feed you. We've always known how much you love to take a bath, but now you are much more emphatic about this great love of yours. You splash and wiggle like a crazy boy which makes us laugh!
This month was pretty monumental in your life. We flew back to CA when Daddy's away rotation in WI was over. You did such a great job on the planes and didn't have any troubles. A few days later, you had your two month shots. Mama was totally beside herself with stress over causing you pain. Daddy rushed to the doctor's office from his work and made it just in time to hold your hands while you got your shots. You did such a great job and quickly stopped crying with a little nursing afterwards.
In fact, you turned 3 months old when we were in Las Vegas for Daddy's dermatology conference. You've already lived quite the little life Jack and we are more in love with you every day.
Love always,
Mama and Daddy
You LOVE:
Sucking on your right thumb and all of your fingers on your left hand
Going for walks outside
Taking a bath
When Mama sings to you
You HATE:
Tummy time
Being in a stopped car. Stoplights and stop signs are the worst!
For Halloween, you were a puppy
Your Mama and Grammy knit this costume for you.
A highlight of your month in Walla Walla was spending time with your favorite cousin, Addi
Peek-a-boo
Four generations of Davis'
Pappy, Nana, Grandad, Mama, and YOU
You are clearly saying, "Power to the people"
I love you so much, Jack!
