4 Months

A bit of an evil look

Dear Jack,

You are four months old and truly make every single day a joy for both your Daddy and I.

This month, we made the LONG drive from our home in Loma Linda all the way up to Washington State to see both of your grandparents. We were nervous that the drive would be too much for you, but in true Jack fashion, you just feel asleep and enjoyed the ride. Over 20 hours in the car? No problem, you said! When we got to WA, you and your Daddy got to take pictures with four generations including your Grandma Panther and her Mama, Grandma Goff and your Grandpa and his Mama, Great Grandma Panther.

You had your first Thanksgiving with the Davis family and then spent some time with the Panthers. Back and forth we have gone this month enjoying all of our family. You have done well at adjusting to different environments which is no surprise because you have spent more of your life away from your home than there.

This month, Daddy has been interviewing for residencies all over the Northwest as well as Dallas, Texas. The interview requests just keep on coming and we know that he will be the busiest of all during January. It will be so great to have him back home.

When I asked Daddy how you've changed this month he said, "He's bigger!" You are wearing 9 month clothes and last time we weighed you, the scale tipped at 17 pounds. Your personality is really starting to emerge and we are so grateful that you are such a happy baby. You smile most of the day and love to communicate through blowing bubbles and laughing.

Lately, you have really started to chew on your toys and we are guessing that your teeth coming in just might be our next adventure. You tend to only sleep for two hours at night before waking up hungry and your Mama walks around pretty tired most days. She can't remember what it is like to sleep for 8 hours straight having not had that for over 4 months. :)

This month, you will have your first Christmas at the Panthers, meet your Uncle Tim and Aunt Heather for the first time (you'll love them, they are great!) and fly on an airplane for the third time. Way to live it up, Jack!

All our love,
Mama and Daddy

You love:
Your toys, especially your yellow dog
Being tickled on your neck
Seeing us when you wake up from a nap
Your cousin, Addi
Bath time

You hate:
When no one is paying attention to you
When too many people are paying attention to you
Tummy time (you still have no idea how to do this)

Ok, seriously, this is one of the only times that tummy time was a success.
Now, you just put your arms straight out at your sides and bang your head on the floor.

Sweet cuddles with Daddy

You love laughing at your toys

Who needs to suck their thumb when you can suck THREE fingers at the same time!?!

Start 'em young we say!
Sidenote: Jack has been working on growing a mullet. So far so good.
