6 Months

Dear Sweet Cade,

Today you are half a year old.  I know we will blink and all of a sudden you will be a year old.  You add such a sweetness to our family and we just can't imagine life before you.  You are still a wonderful sleeper at night and a great napper during the day.  You eat every 3 hours and the rest of the time are just happy to be wherever the action is taking place.  This whole teething thing is ramping up so you are munching on anything and everything in sight, especially your hands and arms.  Unfortunately, you still tend to slam toys into your face, missing your mouth by a mile, which makes your bottom lip stick out and sweet, pathetic whimpers emerge.  When you are more accurate at getting toys to your mouth, we will know you are ready to start eating solid foods.

You love to roll from your back to your front and are getting so strong at lifting your upper body.  We've caught you pushing up to your knees a couple of times and you are getting the backwards scoot down.  I am literally dreading the day when you become a mobile person because I imagine it will be hard to keep track of you and your busy brother at the same time.  Our house is 3 times the size of our last house and I won't be able to see both of you from a central vantage point.  So, Cade, take your time little one.  No rush.

Cade shows us this sign when he is ready to go down for a nap or for the night

You are wearing 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers at night.
You have been steadily dropping down the growth chart for weight and are now only at the 30th percentile.  You are still in the 91st percentile for height.  At your 6 month appointment, Dr. Kim expressed more concern over your plugged tear duct in your right eye.  She referred us to the ophthalmology department to have it checked out.  We are confident that a simple procedure can help clear up that goopy eye of yours.

A few weeks ago, we took you on your first hike in the Loma Linda hills.  You didn't make a peep the whole time and just enjoyed the ride.  We can't wait to hike with you your whole life long!

You are in the process of teething and sort of attack your toys to much on them.

Grammy made you this adorable squirrel that when inverted turns into a little brown hedgehog.
It's almost as sweet as you are.

You give the sweetest kisses which entail you briefly sucking on our faces and then releasing with a smacking sound.  It's wonderful...and wet!

Your name means "round like a barrel"
Um....yep

You have such a good big brother
He loves to climb in your crib with you when you wake up from naps.
We pray that you become friends and always rely on each other.

You have filled our home with joy.
We love you so much,

Mama and Daddy
