Dear Cade,
What would we do without you in our family? You've now been a part of our everyday lives for 9 months, the same amount of time you grew in Mama's tummy. You bring incredible amounts of joy to our days. Up until this point, you were just a typical baby, but now your own unique personality is starting to emerge. You love to make silly sounds to make people laugh, especially your brother. You are incredibly determined and get oh-so frustrated when you don't get your way. Your lower lip sticks out about a half a mile and I smile every time. You look just like your Daddy did in all his home videos when he was younger with that lip sticking out.
Although you were a bit of a late bloomer in the eating world, you have taken to it like a champ. You usually just hang out during breakfast, but you eat a light lunch, and then a monstrous dinner. A typical dinner for you starts out with two steamed veggies in large chunks. You love sweet potatoes and zucchini. Next we move on to pureed veggies. You eat an entire jar. Then you get a quarter to a half a jar of pureed fruit and then finish off with some nibbles of solid fruit if we have something soft like watermelon. Whew...what a little tank!
Getting used to eating fruit was hilarious
In this video, you were eating apple/blueberry sauce. It was incredibly sweet and not the least bit sour.
Even though you are eating like a champ, you are still our little guy. You just had your 9 month check up and your stats are as follows:
17 lb. 13 oz. (18%) weight
30" (97%) height
45.5 cm (65%) head circumference
I believe the term "bean pole" is in order. It's hard to believe you are so low in weight because you sport some pretty hefty fat rolls. We aren't worried one bit about you and know that you are thriving and growing just how God would have you grow.
Growing is hard work...I think I'll just rest my eyes for a moment
You are saying "Mama" and "Dada" with much more regularity and we are starting to be convinced that we need to share the "first word" trophy. You love to clap your hands and are able to do so when we ask you to clap. Obviously, like every other parent in the world, we think you are a genius! :)
Three days shy of being nine months old (Saturday, June 21, 2014) you crawled for the first time. What a thrill that Daddy was home to see it happen. A few days later and you are cruising around room to room. You've sent us scrambling to baby proof this house and we are bracing ourselves for the onslaught on the places that are more challenging to baby proof. Have you seen our wall to wall vintage curtains?
Currently your favorite toy
Oh Cade, you are such a treasure to us.
We love you,
Mama and Daddy
