Mt. Rainier, how we love thee

Our next stop was a 4th of July trip up to Mt. Rainier. Dave's family camped at the same campground, Le Wis Wis, every year as he was growing up. In fact, his Mom's family camped there when she was growing up. You can imagine how special it is to the family. I was honored to finally get to camp there with the fam.

Enjoying the beauty of the woods

Early the next morning, Dave and I, Jenny and Brian, and Brian's parents made the drive up to Sunset. It was a PERFECT morning and there was no one there. The snow levels this year are near record level. It was bizarre to think that several years ago, Dave and I were here hiking around the mountain during a heat wave the same time of year.

Dave and I are still learning how to use our new camera and found our beloved mountain as the perfect subject. There really isn't any place on earth we would rather be.

Each morning, Brian and Jenny made us gourmet campfire grub.
So great!

Another fun camping activity = panning for gold. John Mark is an avid gold miner.

We spent one afternoon and evening at Paradise. There was so much snow!
Baby Panther enjoyed his visit to the mountain as well.
We hope that he will love it as much as we do!

Iconic Panther Family Picture

Can you believe this is the parking lot at the Paradise Lodge? SO much snow!

We loved sharing Kubb with the family and got several games in while we camped.
