Gone are the "baby days". You are a full fledged toddler in every way. You have an awesome sense of humor and love to laugh at your own jokes, which in turn, cracks us up and then we are all caught giggling. You are very determined to do things on your own (like Daddy) but get easily frustrated and overly emotional (like Mama). You'll say, "Jack do it" and "don't no like your help" when we try and step in to help you problem solve. You are doing better with obeying and respecting the boundaries we've set in place. This has led to fewer spankings and more joyful days for ALL those involved.
You love to play outside just sitting in your borrowed toy car (thanks for sharing, Nora) or hitting your tee ball in the yard. After Mama made you swim every single day for about a month, you quickly got over the pool and are no longer interested in getting all the way in. It doesn't help that we've had the coolest summer we can remember mixed with an un-heated, shaded pool.
You are still a fantastic eater. You still love green vegetables and eat what we eat at dinner time. Fruit is still a dessert to you. You love everything we put in front of you but especially strawberries and watermelon.
You have yet to have a haircut but that will all be coming to an end this week because your hair has passed the point of no return. It is too long to hold its sweet curl and two years old feels like a good time to have a first haircut. The day you turned two, we decided it was time to be done with your pacifier. You have only been using it for naptime and bedtime for a long while now. You have not asked for it at those times even once, BUT naptime has become bounce in your bed and yell at the top of your lungs playtime each afternoon. Hopefully, we make it through this transition soon.
We went to the doctor today and you are exactly 36" tall and weigh 30 pounds.
You have just barely started to show your preferences for things, announcing that you don't like the blue, circle bib or the red pajamas. I always answer with, "Oh really? Well, we'll have to try something different next time." So far, you are completely satisfied with that answer.
You've really started to interact and play more WITH your friends rather than just BESIDE them. What sweet times to watch you enjoy all of these wonderful little people.
You are obsessed with all things construction equipment. Books, puzzles, toys in this category interest you the most.
We love you so much and are cherishing these last days of you being our ONLY little boy.
