Dear Cade,
Night and day. Black and White. High and Low.
What other words can we think of to describe the difference a month can make? Last month, you were a bit of a disaster. You cried and fussed nearly every moment that you were awake. Half way through this last month when your tummy troubles peaked, your Grammy convinced me to try eliminating all gluten products from my diet to see if that would help. Guess what? It DID!! You stopped vomiting immediately and over the next few days stopped crying all the time. It turns out you are a downright pleasant baby. You are very content to hang out with your older brother and I during the day. You love to lay on your back on the floor and sit in your bouncy chair when we're eating meals. You sleep in the baby swing in your room from roughly 9:30 pm until 7 am waking up to nurse every 2-4 hours. We are all getting more sleep and life is slowing down into a glorious normal.
Just within the last week, you've finally found your thumb and have fully rejected taking a pacifier. We LOVE that you can self soothe!
Tomorrow you have your 2 month appointment where we will find out your measurements and you'll have your first set of shots. I can't lie, it is hard day for your Mama too. My whole world is built around protecting you and seeing you hurt, even if I know it is for your good, isn't a whole lot of fun. Just to be fair, Jack has to have his flu shot too.
Even though we don't know officially how big you are, we can tell from your oh-so-chubby cheeks that you are growing well. When you were 7 weeks old you really started smiling and talking up a storm. You are such a happy baby! You are much more content in your car seat and have stopped crying each time we get in the car to go somewhere. Jack and I are both SO grateful for this change.
We love you, Cade Issac!
Mama and Daddy
